Chizelle Cargill | Associate

Chizelle is an Associate in the Litigation Group at Lennox Paton, having joined the firm in 2012.

Chizelle obtained an Associate of Arts Degree (Hons) in Economics at the College of The Bahamas, in New Providence, and studied Law at the University of the West Indies (Bahamas Campus) where she earned her LLB with Upper Second Class Honours in 2010.

Thereafter, she completed her Bar Training at the Eugene Dupuch Law School in the Bahamas, finishing at the top of her class in 2012. Chizelle holds a Certificate of Legal Education from the Eugene Dupuch Law School and was called to the Bar of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in November of 2012.

Chizelle's practice covers commercial and civil litigation including areas of contract, banking, insolvency and fraud and she has appeared as junior counsel in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal in The Bahamas.

Chizelle is a member of the Bahamas Bar Association and the Rotaract Club of Nassau Sunset.

Assisted in acting on behalf of liquidators of a Bahamian Company in a liquidation which involved the realization of assets in several jurisdictions
Assisted in cases on behalf of major commercial banks to recover funds owed under a mortgage agreement
Assisted in instituting disciplinary proceedings before the Bahamas Bar Council in relation to a dispute arising from a real estate transaction
Assisted in providing advice in relation to potential liability as a constructive trustee
Acted on behalf of a client in a breach of contract claim involving a real estate dispute
Assisted in providing advice in a fatal accident claim against an international hotel 
Assisted in an action to recover misappropriated trust funds as a result of fraud
Assisted in actions involving contractual disputes
