Simon Lowe | Partner

Simon is a Partner in the Nassau office practicing in the areas of Banking and Finance, Corporate and Commercial, Private Client, Real Estate and Resort Development.

Simon studied Law at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) in 2005 before completing the Bar Vocational Course at Northumbria University in 2006. In March, 2007 Simon was called to the Bar of England and Wales before being called to the Bahamas Bar the following month.

Simon has creditable experience in acting with large financial institutions and international law firms in multi-jurisdictional transactions and for local and international clients in acquisitions, sales and financing of residential, commercial and resort properties.

Simon's recent work has included the following:

  • Representing the lender to a mixed use resort in Exuma, The Bahamas and advising on issues related to placing the resort into receivership and the sale of the resort;
  • Representing the owner of a large shopping centre in Nassau and advising on all aspects of its commercial leases;
  • Numerous conveyancing and mortgage transactions, including advising non-Bahamian clients on regulatory issues concerning their acquisition of Bahamian land;
  • Advising generally on all aspects of estate planning, preparation of Wills, Probate, Letters of Administration and resealing of foreign grants; and
  • Advising on general corporate matters, including the use of International Business Companies, corporate restructuring and share purchase agreements.
